University student feedback - for whom and for what?

Collecting feedback on the organization and content of teaching creates a base for university teachers’ development. The aim of this study was to describe the university teachers’ opinions to the feedback given by students and its’ meaning in their professional development. 12 university teachers were interviewed and the data were analyzed using qualitative thematic analysis. The results point that on the one hand feedback is seen as a chance for professional development and on the other hand, it is considered to be a means of external control which can lead to decisions about human resources within the department.
