Meet Our Keynote Speakers

The pre-conference schedule is live with 10 enriching pre-conference workshops. Now the ICED 2018 program chairs are excited to announce the acceptance of 102 engaging proposals from the round 1 call for concurrent session proposals!

Members of the International Journal for Academic Development (IJAD) editorial team will facilitate a writing retreat for people writing about educational development. Retreat participants will be placed in small writing groups to set goals and give peer feedback, facilitated by a member of the IJAD editorial team. Retreat participants should be prepared to focus on their writing for the entire retreat, and participants should make meaningful progress on their writing during the retreat.

Registration for the writing retreat is only $125. 

Dr. Peter Felten is Assistant Provost for Teaching and Learning, Executive Director of the Center for Engaged Learning, and Professor of History at Elon University. He is a co-editor of the International Journal for Academic Development, the current President of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (ISSOTL), and a former President of the Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network in Higher Education.

The opening plenary panelists will reflect on the conference theme from their international perspectives and help delegates chart the coordinates of the conference. They bring a wealth of expertise and years of international experience to our conference:

Dr. Huang Hoon Chng is Associate Provost and Director of the Centre for Development of Teaching and Learning at National University of Singapore. She is also a co-editor of the International Journal for Academic Development.

The ICED conference committee is looking for volunteers. We want to build a solid international pool in and represent multiple perspectives when it comes to proposal review and other conference matters. We are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

Proposal Reviewers. Proposals will go through a blind peer review process, coordinated by the program chair. We are looking for thoughtful, experienced reviewers.
