Saint Louis University
Debra Rudder Lohe is director of the Reinert Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning at Saint Louis University, where she also occasionally teaches for the School of Education. Debie received her PhD in English from Washington University, where she directed the composition program and taught courses in writing, literature, gender studies, and pedagogy. As an educational developer, her priorities are to help educators move from intuition to intention in their pedagogical practice, to advance institution-wide educational initiatives, and to promote evidence-based pedagogical innovations, interactive learning spaces, and reflective practices. Debie’s recent educational development interests focus on the organizational development role of centers for teaching and learning (CTLs), creating strategic partnerships between educational developers and academic administrators, and developing sensible strategic planning for CTLs. She has been an active member of the POD Network since 2009, serving on a number of ad hoc and standing committees, including POD’s board of directors, the Core Committee (2014-2017).
