Pam Parker

Deputy Director LEaD

City University of London

I originally started my career as a nurse and then moved into academia as a nurse teacher having always worked with students and other staff to develop their learning in practice and enjoyed teaching and mentoring them. I have since been involved in a range of teaching, learning, assessment and staff development activity focused on supporting staff to provide high quality education using contemporary pedagogical approaches for this. My current role is Deputy Director of the Department for Learning Enhancement and Development which plans, develops and provides staff development and consultancy for enhancing learning and teaching across the University. I oversee the MA Academic Practice programme which enables staff and PhD students to undertake individual modules or parts of the programme. I am also the programme director for the MPhil/PhD Professional Education programme and oversee which include the HEA accredited CPD route for four levels of fellowship, our National Teaching Fellowship development programme and the annual learning and teaching conference. I am a National Teaching Fellow, an HEA Principal Fellow and a Senior Fellow of SEDA.
