Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography

Salome Smit is a lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography in the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) in Pretoria, South Africa.
She holds a Masters Degree in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Pretoria. After completing her Diploma in Tertiary Education in 1986, she was appointed as Junior lecturer at the University of Pretoria in 1988. In 1990 she was appointed Head Radiographer at a private practice in Pretoria. From 1992 to 1994 she was appointed as senior Radiographer in Bethal Regional Hospital in the Mpumalanga province. Since 1998 she has been appointed as lecturer at TUT. She has 25 years’ experience in lecturing Radiography students. She was a speaker at conferences and an invited speaker at several SORSA (Society of Radiographers of South Africa) seminars. She has also served on the Committee of the SORSA Pretoria-branch.
She has recently embarked on her PhD studies.
She was married to Willie, who passed away in 2015. She has three children, Jooste, Larissa and Simoné.
